Koita Foundation and National Health Authority (NHA) - Partnership Overview

The National Health Authority (NHA) is the apex body responsible for driving many healthcare programs across India including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), national COVID-19 platform (COWIN) and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) digital health platform.

Koita Foundation has signed an MoU with NHA to collaborate in the areas of capacity building, content development and dissemination of information on ABDM. As part of the partnership, Koita Foundation is supporting NHA in the roll-out of ABDM for state health officials and frontline healthcare entities – doctors, nurses, hospitals, labs and pharmacies.

Koita Foundation & NHA: Partnership Focus

Koita Foundation is supporting NHA with the national roll-out of ABDM platform including:

  • ABDM Adoption strategy – Supporting NHA in developing ABDM adoption strategies and tracking overall adoption progress
  • ABDM Capacity Building and Training - Developing world-class Digital Health training for front-line healthcare professionals – modular audio-video content
  • ABDM State Rollout Support - Building ABDM toolkits, implementation, FAQs, and planning guides to be used by State authorities and NGO partners
  • ABDM Technology Partner Support – Working with NHA on software partner validation, WhatsApp Chatbot rollout

Koita Foundation: ABDM Resources

To accelerate process of ABDM implementation and building a strong ecosystem for digital health in India, Koita Foundation has developed an extensive set of ABDM implementation resources to support NHA & its partners involved with the ABDM roll-out.

The resources comprise of material such as posters, flipcharts, foldables, flyers, videos, etc. The resources are useful for all stakeholders including the state health department, NGOs, ABDM partners, industry partners to support IEC activities, training, and capacity-building activities.

National Health Authority (NHA) and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) Partnership

In a significant step towards advancing Digital Health education across India, the National Health Authority (NHA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) in the presence of Union Health Minister, Shri J P Nadda, on 13th August 2024.

As part of the collaboration, MUHS will offer its Digital Health Foundation Course (DHFC) developed with Koita Foundation to NHA and co-develop additional Digital Health programs for NHA to support the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). In addition, NHA and MUHS will collaborate on other Digital Health capacity building and training initiatives in India.


Koita Foundation: Collaborating with ABDM Partners

Koita Foundation is actively collaborating with implementation partners to ensure consistent and effective communication around ABDM. KF is working with PATH, CHAI, EY, PwC, IIC, Jhpiego, etc. to support their ABDM adoption campaign and outreach efforts.


Koita Foundation: NHA Digital Health Chatbot on WhatsApp

The success of ABDM is contingent on the effective adoption of Digital Health tools and technologies by healthcare professionals across the nation. To catalyze information dissemination, healthcare technology literacy and awareness about digital health, Koita Foundation has collaborated with NHA to develop the Digital Health Chatbot on WhatsApp which will bring the training to the healthcare practitioners at a click of a button.
