Dr. Praveen Gedam is a distinguished figure in the healthcare sector, known for his significant contributions and leadership. Serving as the Additional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Authority (NHA), Dr. Gedam has played a pivotal role in shaping and implementing healthcare policies in India. Trained doctor turned Indian Administrative Service officer in 2002, he led pioneering initiatives within the Maharashtra State Government, notably revamping maternal and child health indicators in Latur. His flawless execution overseeing the Nashik Kumbh Mela of 2015 resulted in zero missing persons, casualties, or outbreaks-an exceptional feat.

He drives pivotal policy formulation, design and implementation of India's largest health insurance scheme, Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

Under Dr. Gedam's guidance, the National Health Authority has witnessed strategic advancements, particularly during the critical times of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has been instrumental in steering the organization towards effective and efficient healthcare delivery, emphasizing innovation and technology to enhance accessibility and quality of healthcare services across the nation.
